Dr. Howard Jones studied mathematics and physical sciences at the University of Wales, Cardiff, and graduated with a degree in mathematics, a first-class Honours degree in chemistry and an MSc in physics for two years of research carried out in collaboration with the Welsh National School of Medicine in Cardiff.  After a post as Research Assistant in the Postgraduate Medical School at Hammersmith Hospital in London, and two years of school teaching, Dr. Jones' research for three years in the University Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Perth, in Western Australia, yielded a PhD.  A further three years of post-doctoral study were pursued at the McGill Medical School, Montreal, Canada, which yielded a number of research papers published in Nature, Journal of the Chemical Society of Britain, Canadian Journal of Spectroscopy, Canadian Journal of Biochemistry, and elsewhere.  Since completing his academic studies, Dr. Jones has spent his professional career in teaching, lecturing and working as a publishing editor, as well as writing books and articles.
